Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about using AkkamChat.

What is AkkamChat?

AkkamChat is a communication platform for messaging, group chats, file sharing, AI assistance, and internet-based audio and video calls.

How do I create an account?

Select “Sign Up,” enter the requested information, create a password, and confirm it. You may need to verify your email before using all features.

Why must I verify my email?

Verification helps confirm account ownership and reduce fraudulent registrations. Check your spam folder or use the resend-verification option if the message does not arrive.

What does Remember Me do?

Remember Me allows AkkamChat to restore your session on that device. You may still need to sign in after reinstalling the app, clearing application data, changing your password, or when a security check is required.

Do not use Remember Me on a shared device.

How do I change my profile picture?

Open Settings and select “Change Photo.” Choose a supported picture from your gallery or camera.

JPG, PNG, and WebP images are recommended.

Can I send multiple pictures or files?

Yes. Where supported, select multiple items from the file or photo picker before sending.

How large can a file be?

AkkamChat may support individual files up to 1 GB. Actual limits depend on file type, storage availability, network reliability, and account restrictions.

How do I view or download an image?

Tap a received image to open the full-screen viewer. Use the download control to save it to your device.

Does AkkamChat support group calls?

Yes. AkkamChat supports group audio and video calls designed for up to 100 participants.

Actual capacity and quality depend on internet speed, device performance, location, and the applicable calling-service plan.

Why is my call slow to connect?

Common causes include:

  • Weak or unstable internet
  • Restricted Wi-Fi or cellular networks
  • Long geographic distance
  • Missing camera or microphone permissions
  • Battery restrictions
  • Temporary server problems

Try changing networks, checking permissions, and restarting the call.

Why can’t I see or hear the other caller?

Confirm that both participants granted camera and microphone permission, are not muted, and have a stable connection. Also make sure another application is not using the camera or microphone.

Can I leave the call screen without ending the call?

Supported versions allow you to use other AkkamChat features while remaining connected. An active-call control should let you return to the full call screen.

Android may also display an ongoing-call notification while AkkamChat is in the background.

Why does it say someone is already in another call?

AkkamChat prevents one active call from being replaced by another. If this message appears incorrectly, end any remaining session, wait briefly, and try again.

What does “Waiting for the secure group key” mean?

Your device has not yet received the key needed to open protected group content. This may happen after reinstalling AkkamChat, joining a group, or signing in on a new device.

Remain connected while the group synchronizes. Older content may remain unavailable if its original encryption key was permanently deleted.

Is AkkamChat end-to-end encrypted?

Yes. In current supported AkkamChat versions, human direct and group messages, supported shared content, and audio/video call media are end-to-end encrypted on users’ devices. Only the intended participants’ devices have the conversation keys needed to decrypt that content.

Akkam AI is a separate, optional service and is not end-to-end encrypted. Limited operational metadata remains server-visible so AkkamChat can route messages, connect calls, deliver notifications, and protect accounts.

What information does Akkam AI receive?

Akkam AI receives the prompt, context, images, and other content you intentionally submit. It does not need automatic access to all your private conversations, but content submitted to Akkam AI is not end-to-end encrypted.

Do not submit highly sensitive information.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Confirm that:

  • Notification permission is enabled
  • AkkamChat is signed in
  • Focus or Do Not Disturb is not suppressing alerts
  • Background App Refresh is enabled on iOS where needed
  • Battery optimization is not blocking AkkamChat on Android
  • Google Play services are enabled on Android
  • Time Sensitive or full-screen call notifications are allowed where supported

After reinstalling the app, open it and sign in again to register the device notification token.

Can I block or report another user?

Yes. Use the available profile or conversation controls. Reports can also be sent to support@akkamchat.com.

How do I delete my account?

Use the account-deletion option in Settings or contact support. Messages already delivered to another user may remain in that user’s history.

Is AkkamChat free?

AkkamChat may offer free features and optional paid services. Any charge will be shown before purchase.

How do I contact support?

Include your device model, Android version, AkkamChat version, and a clear description of the problem. Never send your password.
